The MSA Latchways Leading Edge Self-Retracting Lifeline 62710-00US is engineered to provide advanced fall protection in demanding work environments where conventional self-retracting lifelines are not suitable. Specifically designed for leading-edge applications, it protects workers operating near sharp or abrasive edges where a fall may occur over structural steel, concrete, roofing systems, or similar surfaces.

Unlike standard overhead SRLs, this model incorporates a 1/4 in (6 mm) galvanized steel cable with a robust 7 × 19 strand construction, providing enhanced durability and resistance when used around abrasive structures. The high-visibility impact-modified nylon housing offers excellent durability while remaining easy to identify on busy construction sites and elevated work platforms.

The device combines MSA's patented Constant Force® internal energy absorption system with a dedicated external shock pack, providing a dual-stage energy management system specifically engineered to reduce forces generated during leading-edge falls. The shock absorber is enclosed within a durable chemical-resistant neoprene cover, protecting the webbing from environmental exposure and job site contaminants.
